I work both in plein air and in the studio. Although half of my work depicts actual places, the other half are inspirations of places. Copying a particular scene exactly has never been my main focus. I am more interested in the poetry which an area evokes or even totally fabricating a scene to evoke an emotion. Composition, light, air, temperature and tonal qualities which stir the heart in some way are my true subjects.
